Techno recommendations?

I need something in the vein of Sasha. IMO, it doesn't get any better than some of his stuff. Not even sure what genre that is, but I guess trance? I like some Oakenfold stuff.
Anybody have any recommendations in that same vein? Just need some new stuff to look into. TIA

Also to OP, check out Marcus Schossow and Gabriel & Dresden for some good vocal trance. For a electro trance type artist, Thomas Gold is a good one to look up.

I have grown to hate the term techno. It is a genre. Not a blanket term for all electronic music

The proper term is Electronice/Dance music. As cotton said techno is a genre under that.
Sasha would be a progressive house with some aspects of trance IMO. If your into that then some of the names named like John Digweed are good examples. Carl Cox also comes to mind. DJs of that genre are a dime a dozen, so if you liked that genre I would get a Sasha tracklist and explore some of the artist his uses during his sets.
Armin Van Burren I think is the #1 DJ according to DJmag. Not sure its been a while since I have kept up with that stuff. Gabriel and Dresden are my favorites in the trance genre.
I personally have always liked break-breats and down-tempo or trip hop. Some breaks genres are: Nu-Skool breaks, funky breaks, intellgent breaks. Some of my favorites under this would be Adam Freeland, Plump DJs, Santos, Rennie Pilgrim, Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie... just to name a few.
Trip hop, UNKLE, Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead are where its at. Trip-hop goes back as for as 95' and still sounds good today.
I don't know too much of the current stuff, but Skrillex does make some good tunes IMO.

Some older M83 can be considered trance like. Songs like Coloring the Void and to a certain point We own the Sky. In fact, Sasha even does a remake of one of M83's songs. If that is the same Sasha you are talking about.

do people still make techno music? Isn't it like the latin of music genres since dubstep came out?

Can't see youtube at work, but Couleurs? I listened to that one yesterday off Invol2ver.
No dubstep recommendations kthxbai.

Yep, thats the one. If you were talking to me, M83 isn't dubstep. If you weren't, then I recommend M83's older stuff.
