Hopefully it's better than the first one. THere were a couple of gems on the first one, but overall I found it pretty meh.

Will check out after this listen of Taylor Swift's new one, which is pretty excellent.

I thought Vol 1 was fantastic. Have made it through vol 2 and I like it, but I don't think I like it better than vol 1. Gonna need to run through it a few more times.

Vol 1 has the greatest bluegrass song about the Buddhist state between death and rebirth ever made, and I'm assuming that's because it's the only one about that topic ever made.

To be fair, bluegrass isn't my favorite genre of music. I can take it in very small doses, but it starts to bore me pretty quickly.

The lone exception to that is The Punch Brothers, but a lot of their stuff isn't really traditional bluegrass.

I typically agree with that when it comes to instrumental only bluegrass.

Somehow it's worse than the first one.

A Sailors Guide is probably a top five album of all time for me and Call to Arms is my favorite Sturgill song.

He fricking crushed it. Brace for Impact, Welcome to Earth, Sea Stories, Keep It Between The Lines....all have been given this new life with this Bluegrass sound and its glorious.

and of course, he made Call to Arms this Bluegrass Jam that absolutely fricks.

I agree. I liked the first one but it wasn’t anything special.

This one is amazing.
