Compared to other jam band guitarists, he isn't that good. Jerry, Duane, Houser, Al Schnier, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Barber, Jake Cinninger, Chuck Garvey are all better than this > LINK

You know, i wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't put dead people on the list. If you list someone who is dead, then you have to think of Trey in their prime. And at that point your arguments become pretty ridiculous.

I didnt even hear of STS9 until last week, and I really enjoyed them.

You guys have really given great suggestions.. I like a lot of bands listed here.

And I know that STS9 and some of the bands I listed aren't exactly alike, but they are similar enough, most being instrumental jam bands etc.

I know this isn't exactly a "similar" band but I'm going to put

Explosions in the Sky

as one, they have some great stuff. All instrumental as well.

I'm going to keep updating the OP with the list you guys helped with, bc I want to check out each one when I get time.

Thanks again music board, this is a great board.

I'm very glad it exists.

I know a girl (actually a good friend) who used to be a stripper, do tons of Ecstasy and loved STS9. I even burned a CD for her. I kind of think you have to see them live and be very high.

I was here when they performed this awesomeness..

I can neither confirm nor deny the presence or non-presence of any legal or illegal substances that may or may not have been in my system at the time.

I love Explosions, but the sound just doesn't emanate from the stage the same way as with STS9. Listening to STS9 live is sorta like eating a red starburst. Bursts with flavor.

This thread made me go back and catch up on listening to new STS9. Their last EP, When the Dust Settles, is flat out BAD. They really took this electronic thing wayyyy too far.

Not trolling, it's just difficult to talk with a fratgump from Cleveland about good music.

I was thinking this whole time it is funny when sts9 freaks actually think their music is that good. I mean you are up here acting like them and Bisco are the two best acts playing.

You have no music appreciation ability and from everything I have read so far I bet you are "that guy" at most of the concerts you attend. You know the one who stumbles around mumbling incoherently trying to talk to people be doesn't know about shite they don't care about. You get self conscious after that strip takes effect and go finds a place to put your head in a corner and cry.
