Not sure if this has been covered but Wolfmother and Witchcraft have both come out with a new album. I got both and I need several more listens before I make judgement but on the surface, Wolfmother is rocking hard. I like it. Witchcraft on the other hand, has gone in a different direction. I'm not saying it's a bad direction, just different. Long, drawn out slow songs (like the late 60's).

This has been my band these last few weeks. Simply great
I cannot get enough of this band. Hot shite LSUJAX
Awesome show John. HIGHLY recommend it for anyone if they come around. NachoReb will agree as well. Met him there and shot the shite with him for a good while. We then moved on up near the stage when Pallbearer started. We both loved it. Great time.
ETA: Off-topic just a bit and definitely not Stoner, Sludge, or Doom... I'm done here for work and driving back to Jax tomorrow. But gonna round the trip out nicely with a Testament show tonight.

I was late to that Elder album and didn't discover it until January of this year. It's is really really enjoyable.

Are any of EHG's albums as bluesy as "Take As Needed For Pain?" Gonna continue on with Dopesick and hope I didn't peak too soon. FWIW this is their only album I've ever listened to other than the odd track. Heard it probably 3 years ago and wasn't into it but I put it on this past weekend and god damn that was some of the most invigorating riffs I've ever heard.

Sleep - Dragonaut
Sheavy - The Electric Sleep
Weedeater - Monkey Junction
Generally characterized by slower, heavier riffs than what you would typically think of as metal. Vocalists tend to use their voice more in its normal range than the typical metal bands as well (though Weedeater is definitely an exception.) Good music to rip a J and head bang to. Think of it as "heavy/future blues"

I stumbled across this documentary I think you guys might like. It's essentially about the history of stoner rock.

That's a great doc. I think it's been brought up before but the thread is massive at this point.

The scandinavians are killing it. I came across this quirky but awesome album. It hits about everything. One second pounding sludge then a catchy guitar riff into some 80's sounding B movie soundtrack song then into some harmonizing vocals. To me it sounds like if Yes turned into a sludge band.

Mangoo - Neverland
It is a little bit varied in styles, but they do it right. Very nice.

Fuzz - Pipe
Just got their album 'II'. Vocals sound like Uncle Acid but the music is heavier. Production sounds fat. Me like!
