harmony is a made in America brand guitar and I feel like they should get more recognition. a friend of mine is a luthier as a large non chain music shop who does a lot of work and says these newer lines of harmony guitars are really well made and the tone is unreal on them. super underrated instrument. these newer models look like they are in the 1200-1500 price range new but can be had for less on reverb used. anyways, here's some pics and a video as to what they sound like:

It's a head scratcher to me.
The Harmony label was made in China junk for years. Then they move production back to the U.S., at Kalamazoo no less and use the name that has been damaged so badly?
It doesn't seem like a great plan, even though I'm sure they are building a great guitar there.LINK
Dude's review is pretty funny
If you put a set of the Duncan splitable mini-humbuckers in that one with the Bigsby, and put the better spring in like he suggested, you might have a guitar that would do most anything you want.
I really like it.

It’s an iconic name brand. They need a new marketing campaign on social media to get the word out that their instruments don’t suck anymore.

I added another edit, and I might go back and edit after I try one out.

A lot of guitar companies have idiots in their marketing dept. Ernie Ball has two main bass models (I know there’s others like the Cutlass, but main ones), The Stingray and the Sterling. Stingray has P neck and Sterling has J neck and slightly smaller body. These are top US made models.
So, when they started Asian bargain models of Stingrays, what did they call them? Sterling by MusicMan. Why? They still have the US Sterling. Go Google Ernie Ball Sterling bass and see what pops up. If you didn’t know, how would you know?

Trademark association is a long lasting thing.
Keep in mind, the company that now owns the brand, is from Singapore.

1200-1500 seems a bit much.

You coul dget a Fender Jazzmaster new for $1300, which is what the top one looks like it intends to knock off body-style.

But I'll check out the vids. Thanks.

You could get one for around that but what if you wanted a different sounding and playing guitar? There’s more options out there for American made guitars

Oh yeah. That’s been confusing customers for YEARS. I had a vintage sterling and was selling it and this one guy messaged me online wanting to give me $200 because he thought it was the sterling by music man instead of the Ernie ball sterling.
Just terrible confusing marketing.

At that price point, no thank you. A nice used Fender or Gibson can be had.

That's what I'm talking about, and this Entity that is now marketing The U.S. made Harmony is based in Asia.
Their grasp on marketing to the American guitar buyer, might not be complete.
Imagine, if you somehow bought the Squier name, started building them at a custom shop in Tennessee, and had to convince everybody, that it's different now.

Of course but there’s other guitar makers out there. Imagine having a tele AND one of these harmony’s. They sound different, play different and look great.

Ehh not sure that’s a great comp as fender isn’t selling the squier brand ever. It’s their budget brand. I get what you’re saying but I don’t think it’s the same thing.

Harmony has always been thought of as a cheapo brand I get that but these new guitars are waaaay better quality than anything they’ve put out in the last several decades.
