As I understand it, musicians have to pay something like $25k per person to be inducted into the HOF. Many tell the HOF to frick off when they lay that info on them.

Even? 3 full-length albums and 2 EPs is not some kind of anemic output.

It kind of is. Guns 'n Roses has a famously small catalog for a great band, and even theirs is significantly larger than NWA's. Perhaps you'd like me to use Creedence in the analogy instead?

I just think you should use a band that has less than 3 full length albums to their credit. (And 2 of them were famous for being over-long works of ego.)

Creedence is a decent alternative but I think Nirvana is a better example. shite, what about AiC?

AiC isn't in the RRHoF, so the analogy breaks down there. I'm comparing NWA to inducted artists. Nirvana had three studio albums, plus a formal release of their B-sides, and a live album widely considered to be one of their best albums. That's 5 LP's. So, another great band with a small recorded output that is much larger than NWA's two records.

NWA has no place in the RRHOF, but I'd be willing to surmise ways they were able to squeeze in.

What about Run DMC?

Meh. I think Hip-hop would be better served with its own HOF. It could still be every bit as legit. I don't know..just too many genres now for this not to happen I guess.

The reason I ask is that Run DMC was explicitly backed by hard-rock instrumentation for their first 2-3 albums. Check out the song Raising Hell. Their 1st single might have actually been Rock Box.

True, but they're still hip-hop.

And I also ask is Public Enemy in? And if they are and Anthrax is not -- travesty.
