I have only listened to the album twice so far, but I believe this is Slash's finest release post GNR. It is 17 songs, very little filler, and a ton of solid/great rock n roll songs. His playing is noticeably on point on this album and you can tell he really was challenged in the studio to produce the best takes he could. His guitar tone is also very good on this album and IMO slightly better than on his last release "Apocalyptic Love". The band is rock solid as well featuring Todd Kerns on bass guitar and Brent Fitz on drums. I particular think the drum mix on this album is stellar. The snare drum is fantastic and it punches right through. Overall, the production and feel of the entire album is fantastic. It's a great listen if you have a length stretch of interstate to drive.

Noticeable tracks -

"Beneath the Savage Sun"
"Withered Delilah"
"Battleground"
"Too Far Gone"
"Safari Inn"

Guns N' Roses... one of my all-time favorite bands, and a band that really grabbed hold of my ears the first time I heard them. At one point, I thought "Welcome to the Jungle" had the coolest intro I'd ever heard, and it still is up there at the top for coolest intros.

It just sucks how the band imploded and is now just the Axl Rose Band. Axl has never done anything in the conventional way, from taking over a DECADE to release one album, being notorious for showing up late to concerts or not showing up at all, and not even showing up to be there with his old band-mates when GnR was inducted into the Hall of Fame. If Axl was like most people, he probably would eventually bury the hatchet with the Slash, and reunite with him to get the REAL Guns N' Roses back together. But he's not going to. He said it himself that one of them, he or Slash, would have to die before a reunion would ever happen. Axl marches to the beat of his own drum, so you can't think that the guy goes by the logic of most people, because he doesn't.

I've never met Axl personally, I just know him the way any fan would, from what I've read, heard, and seen. We don't really know all what went down between him and Slash, but apparently Axl's the one holding the grudge, because reportedly Slash has tried to mend the fences with Axl, to no avail.

Velvet Revolver was a good band, the STP/GN'R supergroup. They had some really good tunes. Best of luck to Slash with his new music and future endeavors!

Wow this album is freaking good. Slash and Myles Kennedy kill it on every track. Best rock album of 2014.

Slash actually tried to meet up with Axl during one of his shows and Axl specifically told the event staff to NOT let Slash through the door. I don't know what happened, but there is some bad blood. Slash is better off with the dude in my avi/sig pic anyway.
