This made me smile this morning.
Here comes the sun
The whole thing is amazing, but I noticed the bass riffs (16th notes around 1:05, 1:13, etc) for the first time in the second verse (starting around :55 ish).
What a great feel!

They are obviously great (particularly Macca) but far from the greatest rhythm section ever.
Two of my favorites are Entwistle/Moon and Porter Jr/Modeliste

Paul's bass playing always blows me away, even though Ive heard every Beatles song hundreds of times, I still notice new things from him all the time that I never noticed before

Yeah, I really like Rush. Those guys are certainly more fancy/technical, but IMO not nearly as musical.

McCartney really was a great bass player though (never paid attention for the loooongest time).

Umm, no. Now I'm not saying they are the "Greatest", just throwing their name out there as being one of the better ones (mainly cause of Flea, not so much Chad).

Bwahahaha. You may not like their style of music, but only a moron would truly believe they are not one of the best of all times.
I have seen some sick combos live:
Dino/Drew Roulette
Gavin Harrison/Colin Edwin
Josh Freese/Geordie White
Martin Axenrodt/Martin Lopez
Joe Tomino/Stu Brooks
The list goes on. I go to a lot of shows, and I will say that no other "rhythm section" was better than Rush.

Oh, and they really only did studio albums from what I know but Les Claypool and Danny Carey provided the rhythms for Side One and Side Three from Adrian Belew.

I'm not saying they aren't great musicians or a great band bc I actually do like them. I just come from a different side of the spectrum. I prefer any solo/embellishment to be from guitar/horn section/etc. Sometimes it's just too much, same reason I'm not the biggest Carter Beauford fan.
