Ryan Adams music...where to start

I have sampled some of his songs and honestly I'm only interested in his more country sounding music. He seems to be quite prolific and has a million albums out. I don't want to purchase all that.
Seems like his whiskey town stuff is a must but after that I'm at a bit of a loss for the best way to start...which albums are must have excluding any non-country

Rock N Roll is a cool record...different than most of his stuff.

Always enjoyed Cold Roses - double cd and falls into his alt-country phase.

Cold Roses is one his best and has that country feel.
Also, I love his old stuff with Whiskeytown and it is pure alt.

Also, go to the Ryan Adams boards, there are a ton of really good compilations and you can find one that has all his country stuff.

I'd go back to Whiskeytown and start there... Personally, I think Stranger's Almanac is his best work...
A lot of his solo stuff is all over the map, but good and Cold Roses is also a personal favorite...
When he is on his game, in my opinion, he is the best classic songwriter of my generation...

If you want more of a country feel, Jacksonville City Nights is where you want to be. Cold Roses is a damn good album too with a little country feel to some of the songs. Most of his wide release studio stuff if pretty good. It's when you get into his B sides, etc that you can get into some of the stuff he should have kept on the shelf.
Easy Tiger might be his most underrated album, imo.

Downloaded a good sampling from all three whiskeytown albums. Downloaded gold and jacksonville city lights. Going to work on these and then move on to cold roses

If you are into his country stuff, then I suggest sticking with Whiseytown and his work with The Cardinals.
