Ryan Adams is one of the great songwriters of his generation. It's sad to see him get defamed in this way. Sure he's a huge pussy, but those albums he came out with in the 00s are some of the all time great indie records and nothing will ever take that away from him.

He is an amazing talent. shite human being though, sadly.
I would say the other problem he faces artistically is that he was so prolific and ran with whatever artistic notion came up in his head, that his catalog is of VERY mixed quality which also hurts him some when you talk about "greatest."
His best work is really, really good.

That is very true. He planned on three albums this year... three. Odds are only about an album and a quarter are probably great. He has lots of filler but you're right hogfly - his best work is really good.

I love his music. A ton of his concerts (best stuff imo) are available to download for free. The allegations sound credible and make him seem like quite a creep. I have no idea some are false but some sound legit. especially hitting on the underage girl.
