Tommy Lee gave me a bag slam arse full of drum cymbals so I say they should make it.

Neither to put either of those clown show acts in over Iron Maiden or Judas Priest is laugh out loud funny.

Pantera is priority #1. After they get in, we can discuss the rest.

The elitists that run the RRHOF would never let it happen.

I agree, Morley Crue sold over 100 million albums and was one of, if not the biggest of the hair bands. Def Leppard should be in based on Hysteria alone.

Both should be in but if we are keeping score Motley Crue was the better band.

I will never understand the appeal of that album. Both High n Dry and Pyromania were solid releases and then Hysteria had fluff like "Pour Some Sugar" and "Armageddon It", yet THAT one is the one that is supposed to be their masterpiece? It's complete crap.

It's one of the few albums hard rock historian Martin Popoff ever gave a 0 out of 10 rating. I totally agree with him on it.

The suits don't see it that way because Hysteria sold so well. Full disclosure: I'm a Def Leppard fan back to High 'n Dry - they went from a NWOBHM band to the kings of pop metal. I love Hysteria, but it's barely a hard rock album. The thing had 12 tracks and 10 were successful singles.

I agree with you on the album, I was referring to the song “Hysteria”. I love that song, the rest of the album is meh....

Women

Gods of War

Animal

Love Bites

Rocket

Love and Affection

I get that Sugar and Armageddon It are huge hits that put off some folks, but the album functioned as a "gateway" for some folks to get into heavy music in the late 80s. The boys from Sheffield were big proponents of Metallica and encouraged their fans to give them a chance. I think this partially contributed to the success of ...And Justice for All and Metallica (Black Album) of the next few years.

From a commercial and critical standpoint, Hysteria is a watershed moment in heavy music history.

Your opinion sucks. The Crue pioneered Glam/Hair Metal, sold over 100 million records, kicked major arse (literally) and partied harder than most bands in the history of rock n roll. Mötley Crue changed the landscape of 80’s Metal by INVENTING 80’s metal out of the ashes of punk.

The Too Fast For Love Album is basically a glossed up punk album. Shout at the Devil was Metal and the rest were Glam. They found ways to reinvent themselves with each successive album. They took no prisoners and did it their way while giving the recording industry the finger. This is probably why they’re not yet in the Hall.

As always, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and my opinion is that anyone who thinks The Crue sucks, well, they suck.
But differences of opinion is what makes this shite fun. Right?

True - and whatever anyone might think about Nikki as a bass player or Vince as a singer, Mick and Tommy could flat out fricking play with anybody.

Period.

Dat’s Right!

Aside from Neil Peart of Rush, Tommy Lee is one of the most accomplished and talented drummers of the modern era. I’d put that guy up against any other drummer and he’d probably school the shite out of ‘em.
