What are the boards's thoughts on this? I no longer have any friends who are game for this sort of thing, but I still love me some music festivals by God.

Will it be awesome and strangely liberating, or will I feel lame and "first day of kindergarten uncomfortable" for two days?

Rock and roll music is the music of the devil, there will be no god at those festivals.

I went to a music festival solo last year for one of the two days. It was alright, i did feel a tiny bit awkward at times. The crowd wasn't very friendly which really hurt. I only stayed for 2-3 hours and bounced to go to a party.

what festival? are you traveling?

I bet you could find ppl to meet up with through the internet - try reddit or you fav band's website. Or twitter. People are often up for meetups.

And it never hurts if they are hot and quick on the bang.

But on that note I should mention that I had a one day ticket to firefly last year and decided to take this girl that I wanted to bang but had not previously. Mistake.* She decided within 5 minutes she didn't wanna be there. and proceeded to do this passive aggressive pouting sort of thing until I handed her the keys to my car and invited her to go back there and smoke weed to her heart's content. She took me up on that offer. So, I guess I sorta have gone to a music festival by myself, kinda.

*Though I suppose it was good in the sense that it served to nicely expose this chick as exceedingly high maintenance. **

**Doze bow legs doe. Woulda liked to have put it in her. Oh well.

Just speaking generally. I try to go to a music festival every year. Have been to 'roo twice, firefly, governor's ball, electric zoo (RIP), this really really sketchy dubstep festival in the middle of nowhere maryland, sweetlife a few times (quasi music festival), and one other I can't think of.

I wouldn't mind doing EDC in Vegas. I feel like if I went to EDC in Vegas I wold come back certain that I had never in my life seen so many hot women in one place. And hopefully I would come back with a story about banging one or two of them. But you never know with such things. it ebbs and flows.

Going solo for the music is completely acceptable and even celebrated.

Going solo with the intent of getting laid is pathetic and douchy, and that sounds like what you are aiming for.

This is a very weird post.

I go to Starbucks to get coffee and if I see a hot girl in there, I may try to strike up a conversation and perhaps get some digits. And either way I'm leaving with a cup of coffee in my hand.

I can't believe I just had to explain that.

Your point is noted. It's more just dreading that "first day of kindergarten" feeling I mentioned.

But frick it, I got through kindergarten.

I was going to one by myself in Arkansas last year until it got cancelled. Even built a tent for my truck. I'm not the type of person to have a problem doing anything alone, so there's that

I've gone to Jazz Fest many times by myself. Never had a bad time. Music Fests are best when you have some close friends with you, but going by yourself can be very freeing. You don't have to constantly herd cats, you don't have to worry about taking care of friends who get sick or plastered. You don't have to run all over the place searching for the one food stand that has something someone's bitchy SO will eat. You just go where you want, eat where you want, and listen to what you want, when you want.

The only real issue is that you have to watch how much you drink because you have no friends with you to bail you out if you overdo it.

you're my kind of festie friend. frick the constant cat herding. I do like camping with people though. It's nice to have friends to come back to camp and chill with. However it's definitely not mandatory.
