That's not oxygen, it's a stomach pump.

Naughty Roddie up to old tricks again.

I've enjoyed a little Rod Stewart through life, however, I've wondered what makes him so great?

I've wondered the same. He has a couple of decent songs, but he's been around, for what; 55-60 years? ...and it's not like he has several albums that you can sit down and listen to in their entirety and call them classic recordings.

I saw him 8-9 years ago and I swear he did about 15 covers. Mostly mediocre Motown tunes.

Starting with his biggest hit in 1971:

Maggie May
Every Picture Tells a Story
You Wear It Well
Tonight's The Night
You're in My Heart
Hot Legs
I Was Only Joking
Do Ya Think I'm Sexy
Young Turks
Baby Jane
Infatuation
Love Touch
Forever Young

Plus multiple covers and duets/collabs that charted. Dude was influential in the 70s and I think his status is pretty cemented with that sort of longevity.

Father Time is catching up with these guys. I'm glad they're still around.

Steve Miller cancelled his whole tour last year due to "heat".

That would be Ron Wood rockin' it, right? Yes, great song.

He has written or co-written plenty of catchy hits, is funny on stage with lots of charisma and has never taken himself too seriously. Good recipe for success.

Btw, he had a period where he was doing whole albums of Motown covers. I'm guessing you saw him during one of those tours promoting one of those albums.

Saw Rodney in Baton Rouge early 70s (Assembly Center ?)

When the band came on stage I hollered out "MISS JUDY" he looked my way and again I hollered out "MISS JUDY."

He said "That's showing your blood!" and gave me the power sign.

Turned to the band and said something and away they went with Miss Judy's Farm.

It must have been. Cindy Lauper opened for him and she was actually better than him. ...and I've always thought she kind of sucked.

It looked like a lot of his audience began leaving early when they started realizing he was doing a medley of covers.

He was at his best with Ron Wood. His music wasn't the same after the Stones stole him
