Rock n Roll Memorabilia: What you got & how did you get it?

My interest has sparked in collecting rock n roll memorabilia. I currently don't own anything of value, but would like to start accumulating items, and would eventually (over the course of my life) build a nice collection.
I'm currently not trying to buy anything super high priced like signed guitars or whatnot, and am more interested in simple things like original concert posters and novelty items. Even old magazines and publications.
Where is a good place to start looking for such things?
Does anybody here have any cool collections?

I have a Gary Rossington guitar pick.
He threw it to me after playing Free Bird. We had front row seats.

Tattoo You ticket stub which I got Ron Wood to sign during a book tour he did in ‘85 or ‘86.

That's awesome. Do you have it displayed or framed in any way?
I have a very slight chance at "backstage" Tix for the Stones at Jazzfest. Hoping I can get something like that signed.

It’s just in an old scrapbook of random items.

Met Motley Crue through a customer at work (he was their tour director or something). Tommy Lee ended up giving me a bag slam arse full of Zildjian cymbals. 4 he used during the show and like 8 brand new ones.

I have some guitar picks, most notably four from Dimebag Darrel, two from Scott Ian, and one from Jerry Cantrell. I also got Fred Durst to sign my Family Values tour ticket from 1998 and I got a drumstick from Machine Head in 1997.

Reggae wristband from Jimmy Buffett's left arm. Caught it in the second row at a show at Minute Maid Park in 2007. Robert Earl Keen opened.
Also have a "Hold My Beer and Watch This" acoustic tour poster signed by Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen
Granted, these are more musical memorabilia than rock n roll.

I have two ticket stubs from 1977 for Led Zeppelin.
The first is from March 1 at LSU Assembly Center.
The second is the whole ticket from a July 30 show that was cancelled when Robert Plant’s son died. This show was to be at the Superdome in New Orleans.
Time have changed. Ticket price all tax included .........$10.00
Have a lot of old ticket stubs from that time. Pulled them out recently to show my son who is now 24. He couldn’t believe the prices. I think his favorite was again from ‘77 ELO $6.00 all tax included. The good old days! If I remember correctly!!!

That must have been the biggest bummer of a letdown

It was disappointing. Got to see them once anyway.
They were actually going to play a third time in Louisiana, back again in Baton Rouge. Could have seen them 3 times in one year.
Can imagine what ticket prices for a premier band like that would be today.
Rolling Stones playing at Jazz Fest this year. Sold out in hours @ $180.

The jewel of my guitar collection. From 1989
I got this from a good friend who collects unusual and unique Hamer guitars. I hounded him for 12 years before he finally sold it to me.

My wife did have a pretty interesting collection of Warehouse ticket stubs covering the late sixties through the mid-seventies. Lots of cool concerts.
I'm not sure where they're stashed.

I've got a pick from Warren Haynes that he tossed to me. I've got a setlist from a Crowbar show at the Howling Wolf soon after hurricane Katrina. I grabbed it off of the monitor when the show was over.
Nothing else except ticket stubs and memories. Well not until June at least when I buy David Gilmour's black strat .

My brother had some Nikki Sixx blood. Back in the early days when Motley Crue opened for Ozzy in New Orleans, some of the Crue members were hanging out with Jake E. Lee, Sharon Osborne, and others at the Dungeon when it was still a badass biker bar. Some of them got in a fight with some locals and Nikki got stabbed in the hand. Left the bar cursing and bleeding. My brother and his friends found some napkins or paper on the street and soaked up some Nikki Sixx blood. Think it got lost in Katrina with all of our old concert programs and ticket stubs.

If this is indeed true, what an epic tale.
