I follow him on IG, and I know the suicide of the Silver Jews front man recently took its toll on Neal.

Been struggling with this all morning.
It so crazy to me when someone who is uber talented and loved by everyone and yet still feels so alone and isolated that they take their own life. Depression and the mind are so fricked up.

it is odd that the untalented assholes everyone hates live on and the universally beloved and respected seem to often fall away from us.

Maybe that's part of his depression--the fact that others who are inferior in talent get riches and recognition.

Sad. Came to know him through CRB and CATs but in reading up on him, he was well well known in many circles. And by the sound of it, a really good guy. Prayers for his family
