.. only one of the best lines ever written in a song, any genre. There is so much haunting imagery in this song, the desperation and sadness is palpable to anyone listening.

Was reading that song is about Cathy Smith who he was dating at the time. She was the woman who, a few years later, was with John Belushi and injected him with the heroin that killed him.

Saw a picture of her about 15 years ago and she looked really rough back then,like a combination of too much booze, cigarettes and probably meth.

I always enjoyed his music. Sorry to hear of his passing.
