My local record store usually has all day live music. I've seen a lot of big names and local bands there for free and free beer. Won't be happening this year.

Yeah it’s unfortunate. I also hate that it’s online this year. I could totally see people taking advantage of it and buying 4-5 of the same record and selling it for a lot higher.

If you want to buy anything, you better be ready right when things open up because you might be competing against a dude in Germany or something.

This drop I think I only want the DBT and Prine 7”

I’m pretty sure 99% of stores are online this year.

Here are the participating stores
LINK

Try to pick the one closest to you. With it being online, it will be much tougher to get records this year. I am purchasing from my local record store, and it kind of bothers me that there’s a good chance I don’t get the one I want in time because somebody from Argentina or something bought it before me.

It depends for each store really. Pick one, go to their website. Most will have Record Store Day info, but if not, just call them. NOT ALL STORES CARRY EVERY RECORD.

For example, my store is opening up their online store at 1 PM for people to shop. They are going to release a list of all of the ones they have in stock the day before. In general, stores carry anywhere from 2-10 copies of each record.

You really have to do your own research. Just find a good store, make sure they have it in stock, and be ready whenever their online store opens.

Just checked the list.

That Galaxie record has a quantity of 2000. It is spread across 462 participating stores. That’s a decent number, but you definitely need to be ready to grab it.

Here is the PDF with the drops and quantities of each record available LINK

Use this to try and prioritize what you want. Records have quantities of anywhere from 500 to 17,000 records. That way you know what to get first

Tommy Bollin- Tommy Bollin Lives! (EP)

This sounds interesting, only his name was Tommy Bolin, not Tommy Bollin.

Great guitarist that most people never heard of.

Would be great if I could find the repressing of Mew - And the Glass Handed Kites, but I don't think it's going to be shipped to US stores.

How crowded are these events, looks like a few stores around Atlanta will be open for RSD, but if they are only allowing a certain % occupancy i'm wondering if it's gonna be a nightmare.
