I used to watch this band from N.O. play the local bars in BR late 70's, early 80's and would never miss seeing them when they played. This was their debut album with a whole lot of memories of Papa Joe's, Sports Page, J Club, etc.

Love their music. Randy is extremely talented. Great debut album.
we were probably at the same show a lot of times.
They are having their 40th anniversary shows this month.

Yes, I saw that, in N.O. somewhere. I recently scored tickets to see Randy do vocals for a Tribute to Led Zeppelin show with the BR Symphony and a group of studio musicians. Should be similar to the Plant/Page Tour in the early 90's.

Man all those years of having my head in the speaker stacks have taken their toll......

Was at all those shows too. Good times. Excellent debut album. Every song is solid, with a couple of real classics.

I know exactly what you mean. i remember being cloes enough where my hair would move from the vibrations. Now i'm deaf in my right ear.

Being born in '66 I was just a bit too young to catch them at these local bar shows before they got bigger, though I do remember knowing their name from those days. Did catch them at the Texas Club though in '85. Awesome show.
My question is this: I'm 99% sure that on a particular trip to Vince's corner store with my dad back at that time, I saw a sign advertising Zebra as playing that night in the bar in the same building. Where George's Highland now is and what in the past used to be some different bars and even a Vince's Restaurant at one time. Any of you slightly older-timers see them there?
Oh yeah: Fantastic album by the way. I agree with tigermeat. Not a weak song on it.

Saw them so many times in the 70's at the Pink Potato in Norco and St Christophers CYO in Metairie.

I hired Randy Jackson to play at a big crawfish boil I had at my house back in 2011. He played acoustic 12 string for 6 hours. We recorded the entire show in hi-rez digital.

I have seen 2 of the symphony shows. Very well done show. Enjoy!

I saw them once at a little theater in Opelousas. Blew me away. We spent the weekend with my roommates cousin, Wally Long, and he took us to the show. That was a pretty wild time.
Must have been about 82. Zebra had just gotten their record deal, but hey hadn't finished their album.

I was also a little too young to catch them live in the day, but I always liked them and that album. It often gets turned up loud on weekends,
Saw Randy do the symphony shows with the music of Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Those are pretty cool. The rock musicians who are part of those shows are pretty darned good.

He closed out the night with a killer encore..."Carouselambra"
...what a complicated song to play solo on a 12 stringer!!...not to mention all the lyrics too!
He is one of the most genuine, nicest people you can ever meet.
My audiophile friend and I have since recorded Randy's solo show about 5 more times throughout south Louisiana (Hurricanes in Metairie, the boat launch in Vacherie, and Houma).
My crawfish boil was the first time he let anyone record him solo (no one asked him before--and when he saw all the audio gear in the house, he figured we were legit)
He was astonished at the results after we edited and mastered the show (done in ultra high-rez DSD), and told us we could record his solo performances anytime--just give him a copy!
We now plug directly into his soundboard for the guitar and have a couple mics above for ambient crowd noise.

The set he did at your crawfish boil was incredible. He generates enough noise to make you think you are listening to a four piece band. Randy was great to talk to after the show also. That was a great day---not bad for a bama grad.
