Ranking TOOL Albums

3. 10,000 Days
4. Fear Inoculum
5. Undertow
6. Opiate (ep)
Sometimes I feel like switching aenima and lateralus. Choosing between them is extremely difficult. Same with 10k days and FI. Undertow has such a different sound, nevertheless, an awesome album and sometimes I prefer it over 10k and FI. Opiate (ep) is great but an obvious last place for me. How would you rank them?

Big dropoff from 4-5 for me. 10K days is ok. I've grown bored of Fear. Have barely listened to it.

I've been listening to them nonstop for like the last couple years. This is such a tough question. I love all albums but I think I'd rank them like this:

There isn't really a wrong answer to this question either. I go completely back and forth with 2-4 though.

You are not wrong. It is technical perfection with repetitive cords and progressions from previous albums and too few interesting moments. If this were the first tool record I ever heard I would like it more. The problem is they sound redundant and got too caught up in the technical to remember that music needs to be entertaining as well
