Mettallica ripped off the sound

Yeah, always felt like Metallica ripped off the Crue and then rode their coattails to success.

1. Too Fast For Love

As long as this is in this position, this is a great list.

Shout is my #2.

Too Fast For Love is just one hell of a great pop album.

The only 'Hair Metal' album on there is Theater, somewhat. And then mostly just for the 'look'.

Motley wasn't a hair band.

4. Motley Crue The overlooked 1994 self titled Corabi album is one of the strongest efforts in their catelog. Corabi was a major upgrade from Vince at least in terms of actual singing and songwriting ability. I think it would have done a lot better had they changed the name of the band for a mid-90’s mood that had a negative association with anything 80’s.

That album is really underrated, Dropping Like Flies is one of my favorite rock songs.

“Smoke the Sky” off the Corabi album rocks but it sounds nothing like Motley Crue not just because of Corabi’s voice. They were apparently experimenting with industrial/grunge/alternative/nu metal at the time. The album was critically acclaimed but the fans by and large didn’t approve.

Bob Rock landed the Metallica black album gig based on his work here.

Listen to The Cult's Sonic Temple, the one Bob Rock produced. Then listen to Dr Feelgood. They sound similar.

Just watched the Netflix movie and it was good. Not a fan of Motley Crue though

Yeah, they mostly were. Heck probably the prototype. Maybe not as much as Poison, but LA scene, makeup, heavily teased up hair.

Don't get me wrong - some bands did get lumped in there that don't really belong, Van Halen, Def Leppard to name two. While heavily influential on the sound of hair metal, neither band really fits the bill in the grand scheme of things. But Motley Crue? Certainly.

but if you want vintage, kick arse, frick you, I’ll kick your arse with makeup on, Motley Crue.....Shout at the Devil is your album.

I can find nothing in your post with which to significantly disagree. I fully endorse the quoted passage here.

Mama Midnight did not care for the album being in the house with the pentagram and all, but I was a rock and roll rebel - what can I say?

Motley Crue had the hair band look..........but their sound is NOT hair band.

Shout at the Devil is my favorite..........but the original list is almost spot on .
I loved the Corabi release too........very underrated.

And honestly I thought Theatre of Pain is not bad either. Saw them nearly 15 times and I think believe on every tour but the 1st.

1. Shout - definitely a desert island album for me.
2. TFFL

The rest are a tossup.

Save Our Souls is the best song TOP.
Holligan’s Holiday and Generation Swine were not bad songs.
Tommy Lee solo show crushed the newer version of Shout.

Yeah, that's for reconfirming that you love the sound of your own voice and you don't really know what you're talking about half the time.
