The wife and I went and saw him in concert, not knowing at the time, of course, that it was his last tour. I'm glad we took the opportunity to see him.

I remember lots of people on this board all of a sudden putting Prince in their Top 5 musicians EVER list.

From a composer/virtuoso (on multiple instruments) standpoint, it is tough to find 5 musicians who produced/produce popular music who are better.
But, I regarded him highly all the way back to the beginning (1981 or 1982 at the very least, pre-Purple Rain). He preferred drum machine and loops for the things he recorded 100% himself, but otherwise a truly stellar performer and musician.
