Nice ones, too.
Saw Sebastian Bach live last November. He sang those plus I Remember You. He had a nice band but he's way past his prime. He did mention that due to his age (and weight), he cannot sustain those high notes and vocal range anymore.

The thing about this song for me is that I don't really like the intro or chorus but it has one of my favorite verses ever
I think what always made me like it was that it, along with Home Sweet Home, featured the piano, which was such an outlier in hair band music.
Cinderella actually had two good power ballads on Long Cold Winter. Coming Home was another good song, and was unique in hair band music for the use of the 12 string acoustic.

Steelheart - Mama Don't You Cry.
Steelheart may have been the most quintessential power ballad band. I would add “Lady” (GOAT power ballad) and “I’ll Never Let You Go”.

Late 80s/early 90s, Bach was the Cornell of hard rock. I saw them open for GnR in the early 90s, and Bach unbelievable live.

I initially had I'll Never Let You Go, but removed it became the op requested forgotten power ballads. And Lady is an awesome song.

Two that hold up as well for me today as when they first came out:
(I Just) Died In Your Arms - Cutting Crew
Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money
Whoa just had a flashback to waiting in line at the Haunted House at the Mall.

Nice ones, too.
Serious subject matter as well. Not your typical love ballad.

Both solid songs. One that holds up for me is The Outfield's "Every Time You Cry". It's almost criminal that that song wasn't a huge hit.

Agree. Excellent lyrics, music and vocals. Skid Row had quite a few songs with lyrical substance.

Quicksand Jesus was another.
They were much better than the hair bands of the day, just got lost because some of their best stuff came out at the beginning of the grunge movement.

Agree. Slave to the Grind is one of my favorite albums of all time. Dang near perfect. And yes, the grunge movement hurt a lot of 80s hair/hard rock bands (I personally don't consider Skid Row, GnR, or Tesla to be "hair bands").

Lots of great suggestions thanks

True hair bands were glam, and that's a much different scene. Like you, I don't put Poison and Skid Row in the same category. Glam was poppy light metal with teen fantasies.

See my Romanian Rabbit Hole thread for access to covers of dozens of these type songs by some fairly talented teenagers.

I had the 1991 edition vinyl (import) and put it on eBay several months ago. The album alone sold for $110. If anybody has that album in vinyl, it is gold.

The quintessential '80s power ballad is Mötley Crüe's Home Sweet Home.
I also love You’re All I Need, except the lyrics and meaning are pretty cringe.

A couple more "forgotten" power ballads from 80s bands:
GIANT - I'll Be There (When it's Over)
White Lion - Baby Be Mine
Ratt - I Want to Love You Tonight
Slaughter - Love Is Forever (was actually on 1999's Back to Reality album, but would fit perfectly on Stick it To Ya)
Van Halen - Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)
