Portugal. The Man new album... WTF

I'm listening to this now and am scratching my head. They've gone all in as a pop band, and it's quite strange and disappointing.
With that said, it's actually quite gripping. They still somehow sound like PTM even with the change, and I find myself enjoying it despite my desire to hate.

I hate it so far. Been waiting for this album for 4 years and it sounds cheap (and not in a cool white stripes under-produced way) and slapped together

First Lincoln Park and Weezer, then Paramore, now PTM, and 21 Pilots is supposed to be the face of rock music? What is this world coming to!?

They were pretty damn good at Red Rocks Sunday. Only played three new ones, and I love So Young. Of course they played Feel It Still as well, along with Rich Friends. The rest was older.

No not like this. Catchy songs =\= pop music. While they may have a smidgeon of pop sounds in their previous work, they never went Katy Perry.
As a said I actually kind of like this one even though I don't think I should. There's enough PTM in it to keep it enjoyable, and I can see it growing on me

I haven't listed and only really have seen them live one time (not listened to their albums much) but their live show seemed almost felt like it leaned towards an acid rock kind of vibe - not a full on psych rock show but definitely had that kind of feeling / theme.
