I was just curious as to who has seen The Pixies recently (last couple years) and what your thoughts are. They just announced at a local venue by themselves and thinking of taking it in. Thanks

I am a huge Pixies fan & have seen them with Kim Deal & now Paz playing bass. They are still incredible. Paz fits right in & sings & plays all of Kim's parts just fine but you won't hear her sing any lead(Gigantic).

They say NOTHING to the crowd at all during the show. No hello or goodbye or any talk with the crowd between songs. The set list will vary night by night. You never know what they are going to play. One of the greatest & most underrated bands ever. You have to go.

Debaser would be an awesome song to see live.

Paz is really good in this band, I think it might be one of her dream gigs. It is weird that they won't let her do Gigantic, but maybe that's the DEAL that Kim made with them.

They are touring with Weezer this summer and plan to see them again.

Thanks for the info. This is exactly what I was looking for. I am definitely going. They are playing the historic Florida Theatre in Jacksonville......great old small venue. Absolutley love concerts there.....really no bad seats as only holds about 2000. I think this will be awesome for this show.

I remember it, Teenage FBI and Train in Vain, all before I was super familiar with any of Pixies, Guided Voices or The Clash. Now that’s three of my favorite bands ever.

Dammit!! I’ll probably be on the road in late June but I would love to see that show. I was actually there the last time they played in Jax... November of ‘91, at The Milk Bar. Classic downtown basement venue long since closed. The show came to a very quick halt though about two songs in. There was apparently some kind of issue with the barrier up front so they left the stage. We were all like WTF??? After a few minutes there was an announcement that The Pixies had left the building.

Sucked!!!

They are a shell of what they used to be. I got talked into seeing them a few years ago and i had to bail. But I would go see them in a small venue.....2 or 300 people.

I saw them "back in the day" at The Varsity as well as a couple of years ago at the Southside Ballroom. I have tickets to the Weezer/Pixies concert later this year, too. Obviously, they aren't 20 something years old anymore but they can still jam with the best of them. They will always remain a top 5 band for me.
