We sing songs about the oilfield and plant life

Common law outlaw

Green hand
Margarita machine
Odessa for Biloxi
Stripper well

If anybody could help us get gigs around br I’m all ears. Went and begged at a few places haven’t had much luck recently

Pretty remarkable that this is almost exactly what I'd picture an el gaucho band to sound like.

Not bad. Sort of got a Jimmy Buffet / beach vibe.

Already heard two "Jody" references

What kinda bars are you trying to get gigs at? I could see this doing pretty well at a frequented oil field baw bar...but you'd probably have to mix in a good bit of covers.

Fire Watch Girl is a real bop
It’s like if Tom Petty was a plant baw

Have you asked around at Phil Brady’s or Red Dragon? You should definitely try performing at the open mic at LaDivina or the songwriters showcase at Jolie Pearl.

I would recommend joining the Mopevvave mopeposting Facebook group and link your stuff there after you put it up on bandcamp

We actually played Phil Brady’s but they’re full for the next couple months

We have about a 3 hour set with originals and eagle98.1core covers

If you go down to Spotlight Bar & Grill in Metairie on a Wednesday night and they like you, April would likely book you for a Thursday night or Sunday afternoon show

Did y’all apply to chuck fest in lake Charles? That’s the main reason we recorded all this

I have not. Believe it or not, I’ve never played a show in Lake Charles. I’ve played a bunch in Lafayette snd Beaumont, but not LC for some reason.

Yes, I always figured he was a serious songwriter.

The skill/courage and ability to get up and play live music in front of an audience is the definition of winning. And if someone was to pay you for it is just icing on the cake!

I’d check out around the bars on the Amite River. This would go over bigly.

Thanks baw. Phil Brady’s paid us 250 which was really cool. It’s not about the money I’m trying to pick up chicks. Itd be cool to be like really popular too though. Kind of want to make a br scene and be the founding band of it and have a name for the scene like “red dirt” for the Oklahoma baws but haven’t had any good ideas yet

You’ve gotta start somewhere, and after a few gigs at places like Phil Brady’s, with some good live video that shows crowds having fun, you can get into better and better bars and events. When you get a gig, post it here, I’d love to come and check it out!

When I was adding people for the fb likes there were an awful lot of people I met off here so I’ll let y’all know. Next gig is probably gonna be either Phil Brady’s or oasis

Eta: I really like Phil Brady’s it’s an iconic br bar and they’re really nice and easy to deal with
