Opinion on an Album Cover

My band is releasing our first EP next month and I am trying to decide on the album cover and would like some opinions.
What do you guys think about this as an Album cover? I think it's supposed to have a retro feel, I know it isn't the highest quality photo. Some others I've shown it to say it doesn't look professional enough as far as the image and image quality, just looking for some honest opinions.
ETA: I didn't take the photo.

I have ZERO knowledge of actual design and how all this stuff works, so my opinion means nothing.
But as a person who might just be looking at this on a CD...I don't really dig the TAOPT below the band name since the band name is written out right about it. Just seems kinda....I don't know really. Unnecessary? The art and background is awesome, looks great. In my completely irrelevant opinion, I would maybe remove the huge TAOPT, and make the band name bigger and more centrally focused.

What does your music sound like? Judging by that cover I would think its something like Enya or John Tesh.

I agree that TAOPT is a bit of an eye sore. I think the band name without the acronym would suffice. I don't have much of a problem with the artwork TBH, think it's eye catching enough
I would suggest changing up the font and style of letters. Maybe separate font for both the band name and album title. Just a thought

Change the font. Remove TAOPT
Also a suggestion:
Go to the fark board. Give them the pic in high res without text and what you want it to say.

Definitely need a different font.

Put the TAOPT on the back cover.
Unfortunately I don't think album covers matter as much anymore since hardly anyone sees them or pay attention to it. For me, I love a good cover so I hope you find what it is you want to convey.

I hear Roger Dean is going cheap these days.

Thanks for the opinions, I took ya'lls advice and changed it some, which of these font combinations do you like best?

Did you post your band's stuff in the board's artist thread?

No, we just finished it, I haven't put the music online anywhere yet. The release date of the EP is September 15th. I can post it in that thread around then.

If it's this much of a question, then it's probably not right.

A photographer I had contacted a couple of weeks ago that lives in Turkey got back to me last night and said I could use his photos. The design has now changed completely but I like it better, the new photos also inspired me to go with a different album title. Here is the front and back cover.

Or I could go with this one, so hard to decide, so many cool options.

the wave design kinda makes me nauseous... but that may be what you're going for

Sometimes when I look at it I think it's moving. Too many shrooms back in the day I guess.

The new ones are infinitely better than the waves picture.

The second one is MUCH better than the first one. The first one looks like shitty clip art. I'm not that crazy about the third one. But the second one is pretty cool.
