Old person thread - taste in music.

I'm a 58 year old white collar, married male with two sons who by all apperances is about as middle of the road, leaning toward conservative as they come. Every morning driving to and from work my vehicle is like a sound booth. I often wonder......at what age (if ever) will Led Zep., Deep Purple and other Hard Rock bands stop sounding great at full volume. I also regularly lizten to most any grunge music, love 80s New Wave and anything Alternative. When I am 75 will I still crank up "Break Stuff" and the explict version of NIN's "Closer" and it sound good? My only reference point is my own father who was listening to Big Band music and old crooners at the time of his death at age 61.

I sure hope I'm rocking out to NIN's "March of the Pigs" when I'm old as shite. I can't wait.

@ 54 still rocking a lot of old and new. Told my sons that when the time comes, just come by the home once a week, wipe off my chin and make sure the IPod is still playing.

For Me??? NEVER. I am a classic rock guy.From the late 60's to the early 80's is MY TIME.

Same for me, but I'm wondering what it's going to look like when my then 20 year old granddaughters walk in and 75 year old grand dad has his Bose headphones on listening to "When the Levee Breaks"

I do that now and will continue to do so I have my 16 year-old daughter heavy into Queen and Journey and acts like that. She understands that Freddie Mercury is the GREATEST leadman of all-time.

My 25 year old son loves Lez Zeppelin and other music from my era.
I still love old stuff, but I really like a big variety, some of it very uncool. I am too old to care. The music on my phone is for me and no one else.

At age 61 I still enjoy the songs I grew up with. I have my own personal "crank-it-up" list . That being said, I also still enjoy the big band music of my parents' era as well as the new alt country/Texas music that is popular now.

Are you into new music at all?
One of my objectives in this life is to never stop listening to new music. I sincerely hope that when I'm 70 years old, I'm still listening to what the college kids are listening to.
