It's in almost unplayed condition. Flawless factory finish( I hesitate to call it butterscotch blonde). Maple neck and fretboard are perfect, with some of the best figuring I've seen on a guitar like this.
Action is perfect, frets don't need much, it's got a natural bone nut.
The neck pickup is bad. I just took the pickguard off, and it's got the Universal rout at the neck, so you can put almost any pickup in there easy.
It's got a modern style bridge with a single coil. String through body. That pickup is pretty damn good, still might replace it though..
What would yall do with this thing?
Put it back stock or mod it out? The Squier Standard tellies are startin to pick up steam.

Maple neck and close to Butterscotch?

I’d leave it alone. Configuration wise. Start scouring reverb etc for a good Tele neck PUP.

Pretty sure it's a poplar body, which I love. Poplar Blooms are the most beautiful flower in the world.
I could do something different at the neck though.
I already have a 62 AVRI neck pickup I can stick in there. It's brand new.
Wanted to see if anybody would do anything different though. I wouldn't have to modify anything. Just use a different pickguard.
Was considering putting a splitable humbucker at the neck.

Man, you have to be a pretty slick guitar player for that sound, and I don't know many of those
Good suggestion though.

A Danelectro lipstick might be fun.

Think it would be stout enough with a stout telly bridge pickup? I like that sound.

Probably not after thinking about it a minute.

I don't have a Danelectro, been thinking about 1 lately though.
Last night I was working, which means I was waiting on trouble calls, and playing guitar, mostly playing guitar.
I just took my Les Paul jr. kit guitar, battery powered Orange crush mini and my blues driver pedal.
It sounded cheap, but it sounded bad arse too

Ah thought this was a classic vs mod discussion. Because a maple neck and butterscotch is the most classic look to me. Splitting a humbuckers sounds cool to me.

Is that easy with the way a Tele is routed? Meaning the mods needed to split. Not the space for a humbucker.

It's just a matter of wiring and using the right switches/ pots. As long as you've got the space for the pickup, you can do whatever.
You can anyway, I would just rather not do much routing on a body, especially when it already has a nice finish. That telly has a body similar to this.
