Nostalgic albums for you?
Posted by GEAUXT on 12/14/17 at 9:09 am31
Nothing brings back memories for me like Neil Young's Harvest Moon. We had a sailboat growing up and this thing was probably glued into the CD player.
It brings back some wonderful memories.
Another was a mixtape (I think) of Grateful Dead that my dad would always play in his 280Z.

Neil Young's Harvest Moon
One of my favorite albums of all time. My parents and I would sit on our back porch in the house I grew up in and listen to this album over and over again. I still listen to it a few times a month usually at the driving range with my headphones in. Every song is a hit.
Sam's Town, Sawdust (Killers) and Stadium Arcadium (RHCP) make me instantly think of my time in college. Those were mega popular at the time and me and my buddies wore those damn albums out. Any time I hear a song from any of those albums it takes me back to sitting on a back porch on a sunny spring Friday afternoon drinking beer and people watching.
the family ride had an 8-track (and a CB!) and the following tapes:
grease soundtrack
kenny rogers greatest hits
willie nelson greatest hits
anytime i hear a song from those i go right back to the mid 70's and that maroon lincoln town car

brings back a sad time for me.
Probably the albums from college mostly. Squeeze 45s and Under would be up there.
I pulled up this Nanci Griffith video recently, and the first comment actually made me cry.

Both albums always bring me back to my teenage years and high school at John Ehret 81-85.

I bought Boston and .38 Special at the same time, so hearing either one brings me back to the same place.

It was the first cassette I bought, and generally a large part of the cruising catalogue back in the day.
Plus, my first feeble attempt at backseat romance was with a Marianne.
