Always excited, but I haven't loved much they've put out lately. I haven't been excited about Tweedy's solo projects, either, though I recognize that they're "good," they just don't excite me.
Stereogum named this album for their Album of the Week and said it's their best since A Ghost is Born, topping Sky Blue Sky (some of you probably prefer SBS to GiB), but that descriptor excited me.
So yeah, I'm in.

That stereogum feature has me looking forward to it as well. A lot of interesting stuff being released this week and next.

Steven Hyden’s Top 60 Wilco songs
I’m sure most Wilco fans personal list would have some disagreements with this one, but it’s a good read. And I might agree with his number 1.

Loving this album and the subtle nuisances of sound throughout.

Dang, my #1 is only 33 there.

Was hoping to hear more Nels at some point but he was relegated to noise making duty for the most part, Glenn’s album apparently. Ode to Joy got repetitive for me, nothing offensive but nothing horribly exciting.

What a boring album this is.

Yep. Disappointed. More of the same boring shite. It’s like they heard the term “dad rock,” got pissed and said “oh... they want to hear dad rock? We will give them dad rock... and it will put their asses to sleep.”

How did you make it through 5 times

Wtf is this shite? Why is he whisper singing so god damn much?

Yep. Same as just about all their other studio albums.
They're still great live though. Not sure there's another band with such a drastic change in sound from studio to live setting.

Far worse than most of their other studio albums imo. I would fall asleep if they played this live in my backyard.

I seem to be in the minority here. It’s not peak Wilco and it definitely doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s well executed and I’m enjoying it.

Agree completely. I don't understand all the hate. Even a better listen with headphones.
