Stealing from Silicon Valley.... This album fricks.
It’s damn bad arse musically.
But you’re going to need to listen while reading the lyrics about 10 times if you plan on having a chance in hell at singing along with him. That’s kind of disappointing because Metamodern and Sailor’s guide is so bad arse lyrically, but that’s not really Sturgill’s problem. Basically says so in one of the few lines I was able to understand on the first listen.

This is one of the most bad arse records to come out in the last... 20+ years. It’s sonically creative and diverse. It’s like the white stripes, ZZ Top, the black angels and tame impala got mixed up into a blender

I definitely prefer country Sturgill but this album fricks hard. I was not a fan of the lead single when it was released but I get it now.

Right. Because unintelligible lyrics and overdriven fuzz is genius and everything
else is Taylor Swift. If Joe Blow “drops” (clown word) this album it doesn’t move a needle. Sturgil puts it out and sheep fawn over it. I love Sturgil Simpson. It’s a fricking terrible album.

I’d hardly consider the people that like “this” Sturgill to be the sheep. It’s the cry babies like you that would fall into that category most likely. “It doesn’t sound how I want it to so it sucks!”
