Dave and Tim have been doing acoustic shows together for over 20 years now. Their most famous show is definitely Live at Luther College, followed by the one at Radio City. I recommend listening to both.

Tickets for this start at $140. I'm trying to convince friends to go but none are interested at that price, they figure that they'll just see them at Jazzfest (which I'm not a fan of).

Cool. I'll check it out. But who is he? Was he in a former band?

He used to play at the same bar Dave Matthews worked at in Virginia way back in the day so I assume that's how they became pals. He has his own band called TR3. Never really listened to them though.

He's also played on a lot of DMB records. Any lead guitar that you hear on a DMB record is Tim Reynolds.

He is not an official member. His inclusion has greatly increased since '08.

I believe this is correct but I could be wrong. I don't follow them nearly as much as I once did.

I saw them at the Saenger. I'm glad I went, but not as good of show as the full band. I blame it on the Saenger being too stuffy. That year, I think that was the only D&T show and the place was packed with out of state people so they areally a good draw. There are 2 shows in Texas and a European tour with a possible US spring tour as the full band is taking the tear off which may decrease demand for one particular show at JF. I'm curious to see if they get the closing set at Acura.

Yea, the demand for those shows was crazy. People were paying multiple times face value for tickets in the secondary market. They put on an awesome show and Tim is a great guitar player, but it is definitely more of a sit-down/theater/chill type of show. It doesn't seem like something that would fit well on the Acura stage, especially as a closer. I'll definitely be curious to see where they get placed if they really are playing Jazzfest.
