Yeah I agree the new single is my favorite thing off this album so far. I do like Be Afraid too though.

Damn I thought “overseas” was going to be on this album. That’s a really classic isbell song.

It's one of the tracks on the album. Just not one of the singles I guess, unless they release it after the album comes out.

I just didn’t see it listed on the track list on the first page

Very disappointing. I don’t care for any of the three songs he released from the new album

I know a lot of y’all like him a lot but I couldn’t get into his stuff even when he wasn’t woke.

He’s one of my favorites but like I said the three songs I’ve heard from his new album do nothing for me.

Have you listened to Live From Alabama?

Same here. Prior to NS, I would’ve listed him as my favorite current artist. Like I said, when he traded what made him great, for woke, the quality of his music suffered. It sounds forced now.

Wasn’t huge on “Be Afraid” or “What’ve I Done to Help”, but Only Children is such a good song. I can’t stop listening.
More excited for the album now.

First two songs were garbage. Only Children is legit and gives me hope he hasn’t let his wokeness ruin everything.

I think it is truly one of the best songs he’s ever written.
I enjoy What’ve I Done To Help as well.

I don’t know why people still defend him. It’s clear as day that his politics have clouded his creative process and his music often sounds forced.
I’m glad he’s still in there somewhere though.

Coming out in independent record stores a week early

Even if his music is forced, it’s still 10x better than most stuff out there.
So far we know:
- Be Afraid is a good song with a dumb message
- What’ve I Done to Help is bad
- Only Children is fantastic
- Overseas is fantastic
To me, Be Afraid = White Man’s World, and
What’ve I Done to Help = Anxiety
He was woke in 2017. He still had a great album
Last of My Kind: (9/10)
Cumberland Gap: (7/10)
Tupelo: (8/10)
White Man’s World: (4/10)
If We Were Vampires: (9/10)
Anxiety: (5/10)
Molotov: (8/10)
Chaos and Clothes: (7/10)
Hope the High Road: (8/10)
Something to Love: (7/10)
It’s going to be a good album. He’ll never make another Southeastern but not all his songs are sky-screaming.

Something More Than Free was a similar mix of good and bad.
