Released yesterday. I’ve listened to the entire Cojo album. I liked it. I’m a pretty big Flatland fan so I’m sure I will like their new album too.

Anybody listen to these guys?

I hope I’m wrong but I have preconceived notions about a band called Flatland Cavalry, sounds ridiculously try-hard in trying to sound rustic and Americana.

Edit:

They look exactly like I thought they would

Don’t knock them till you listen. They draw comparisons to turnpike troubadours. If you think turnpike is “wannabe” or whatever you said, then you might as well not even give it a try.

Their new album is pretty good. Apparently they’re only popular in Texas like many of the great Texas artists. To each is own I guess though.

Flatland took a big hit when Laura left the band this past summer. The new guy is a pretty good fiddle player, but Laura was on a whole new level.

Only listened to both albums once but both are pretty good so far.

Flatland's popularity is growing. Ive seen them headline two shows in Nashville in the past year. Not too many Texas artists can get multiple headlining shows in this city. Its usually guys like Randy Rogers, Josh Abbott, Aaron Watson, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahue, Cody Johnson, Cody Jinks, and William CLark Green.

You are right and I like turnpike a lot, didn’t mean to shite on them too much, just made me laugh when I googled their photo.

I like flatland but they’re not near the caliber of Turnpike

Saw them at Billy Bob's Friday for their album release party. While BB's doesn't have very good acoustics, the band put on one hell of a show. Cleto is a pretty damn good artist. The album was pretty good in my opinion.

Don't knock them till you listen and/or see them live.

Giving the CoJo album a listen now. I really like it. I saw him play 4 songs from the album acoustically on YouTube and that was awesome. Hope to catch him the next time he gets to DFW.
