New track is great. Looking forward to it and going to see them in Dallas next month on their mini Texas tour.
And yes, Koi No Yukan is my favorite Deftones album. To me its what made all their albums great combined into one record.

official deftones release
Here is the YouTube link to Prayers/triangles where it's not all compressed and drowned out sounding.

Loving the first song released. Curious what the inclusion of Jerry Cantrell on a song will be like.

It rivals White Pony for me.
Which was weak, weak sauce compared to Adrenaline and Around the Fur.
I think there are 3 types of Deftones fans:
1. Adrenaline and Around the Fur...and SOME of White Pony
2. Anything since 2000
3. Hardcore fans who listen to all of them
I saw them 19 years ago live and it was great. I just do not know if I can say they've gotten better since the tour they did for Around the Fur. Still, one of the greatest live small arena/club shows of the '97-'99 years along with Sevendust and Static X.

I have every album Chino has ever done from Deftones, Palms, Crosses and team sleep, this song doesn't excite me all that much.

It took me a few listens to like it. But once I did, it brings me back to SNW my favorite album.

Same here, and they're a top 3 band all time for me. I've seen 'em over 10 times, even met and hung out with them more than once. Not a bad song in any way, and I know the album will be kick arse as always, just was expecting something different to kick it off.

Have all of his stuff as well except for Team Sleep and I'm pumped for the new record. Really like "Prayers/Triangles" but I'm a #3.

Thanks! Sounds so much better than the compressed to all hell version I have. I like the song more after hearing it this way. I'll be pre-ordering the vinyl soon...

If you're liking any of the Team Sleep stuff, their live album is really great. More impressed with it than the first one.

This is pretty accurate. To draw a parallel to Radiohead, I think that White Pony is their OK Computer. Though Deftones' sound change hasn't been as drastic, it was their "transitional" record.
Fwiw, I think that the new song is good, not great. It does have me excited for the new album.

They'll be back in NOLA this spring I'd think. Better as a headliner than opening up outdoors for Stincubus.

Going to assume this will be on the spring tour setlist. Like it.

While I agree that they are better as a headliner, their set list and performance was nothing to scoff at. I was shocked by how many songs they played and how diverse the selection was.
I hate when bands who are capable of drawing a significant crowd play on a multi-band bill, not a festival, and only play a 35-45 minute set. Lamb of God didn't play for long opening up for Slipknot last summer and Primus barely scratched the surface while opening up for Tool earlier this year.

Wow! That's a badass song, the 1st one was a little lame.

Dig the new song. April 8th can't come fast enough

Looks like those tickets to the Orpheum show in NOLA are going pretty fast.
