So I have been playing my friends Taylor for quite awhile and I have always liked the neck and the playability over my Epiphone J-200EC and a starter Seagull. Well I finally pulled the trigger and got the Taylor 214 ce deluxe. Man this is a nice guitar and has sparked me into playing again every night. Also they have the buy a Taylor get a Mini Taylor for $99 and I got that as well.

Beautiful man. Get your money's worth out of them and play all the time you can.

Nice guitar. When I bought my first "expensive" guitar 25 years ago I almost bought a very similar Taylor.

I had a 210ce and a Mahogany GS Mini at the same time for a couple of years. Loved them both, but noticed I was always grabbing the mini when I would sit and play at home.
Finally just sold the 210 - not a thing in the world wrong with it, but I just always grabbed the mini.
Put a K&K clone bridge plate pickup in it and haven't looked back.

Nice guitar! I have a 214ce (not deluxe) it's a really fine instrument. I left it in a heated shop 2 winters ago without humidification and the body cracked below the bridge. It still plays and sounds great, just pisses me off that I did that. Fretshack would not be happy with me.

Don't Like cutaways. Apparently Bob Taylor didn't either. Because he makes the nicest looking ones. And Bourgeois too. Understated and just functional. Your style needs your fingers to go all the way down here? lets only move the rim to that point and keep it looking like an acoustic guitar.
Very nice. And cool that you get a low priced mini with it. Taylors are better than Martin IMO when you get into the "Mini, Baby, or X Style" models.

I have a 214e dlx, which was one of my first nice guitars. Definitely my favorite to play. Great tone, light, and easy to play (for me at least). Great choice.

Excellent guitars, very nice score!

Nice purchase. Although it is not likely in the near future, if I spend big bucks on an acoustic it will be a Taylor GS or equivalent from them. I like Martins, but not at a premium over Taylor (and I prefer Taylor).
The second option for me would be a Guild.

Guilds are fantastic. A buddy of mine has one, not sure of the model, but reminds me a lot of my Taylor when I play it.

I have a ~1982 Guild D-35 and it resonates like a grand piano. It was the victim of a stage accident (which is a big reason why I ended up with it), but the cracks have never worsened. I really cannot imagine a guitar sounding better, but they literally do not make them like that any longer, nor can a new guitar "age" 40 years in a short period of time.

Thanks everyone. I’m loving it so far and I’m even nervous with tuning it half step down

I also bought a hygrometer to check my humidity in the house lol.

Taylors are sweet. I went to the shop to buy a Martin a few years back because I’ve been wanting one since I played a friend’s 40 years ago. I ended up playing just about every Martin and every Taylor they had. Sat there playing for at least an hour and couldn’t decide. Only bought the Martin because it was a lifelong dream, but I might have liked the Taylor sound a tiny bit more honestly.
