Good calls.

Ferguson would be a great change of pace from the abstract. He has a great version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and "Country Road."

Check out some Woody Herman as well.

GOAT....so fricking cool. I listen to his music pretty much on all weeknights.

ETA:

Some cool Bill Evans info for all of who you that are familiar with him. Evans attended college at Southeastern (in Hammond) . He was a founding member of SLU's Delta Omega Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, played quarterback for the fraternity's football team, and was part of the college band. In 1950, he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.3 for his senior recital, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in piano, and Bachelor's in Music Education. Evans regarded the last three years in college as the happiest in his life.

Bill Evans is also buried at Roselawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, Section 161, Plot K.

Transformation by Tal Wilkenfeld is a pretty damn good album. She is Jeff Beck's bass player.

Dude, Bill Evans rules. Last Saturday morning I was up at 6 with coffee, eggs and bacon, and Bill Evans Trio. Great morning.
