If that's the thread im thinking of, modest mouse sure was mentioned a few times. I can see that happening. They've played the hob before which is just slightly larger than the varsity.

I don't live in BR, but i am interested in the direction of live music in my hometown, so i think it's better for everyone if you restrained yourself a bit and let the actual Varsity website do the announcing.
Relevance is certainly subjective in this case. I will be impressed with the booking direction when i see a show that isn't a slam dunk or no brainer ... something that is risky or forward thinking and tests the Art vs Commerce theory for the owners who are already printing money and don't take kindly to non-revenue making shows

My guess would be Alabama Shakes, but they havent been around to long
I also think it is impossible to say "this is a band that everyone likes" .... There are a ton of dumbasses that like shitty music, so thats impossible..

yeah I hate this kind of stuff. Its the internet. I doubt they trace it back to you. If you know, leak it. Sounds like you don't really know & just putting a general statement out there for attention.

2. Helping spread the word/hype for the show. It's going to be a really good one. Been waiting on them to play the varsity for years.
