I saw Paul McCartney in 2018 - was kind of dragged there by my wife and her mom. One of the best shows I ever saw. It was just one great song after another. I cried when he dedicated "Something" to his friend Georgie. Band sounded good, he had good energy. Guy is a fricking Beatle, he can do what he wants for however he wants.

Paul put on some of the best shows I’ve ever seen. But in the most recent concert videos I’ve seen his voice is so bad they seem doctored. Though recordings at concerts can be a little deceiving. They probably have ways to hide his voice more and the noise covers some of it up. Maybe I’m wrong but YouTube videos probably sound a lot worse than it does in the arena.

They'll stop when it no longer makes money. Simple as that.
However, it appears that plenty of people are still willing to pay for the product and the performers are still willing to play.

Pretty much this, 95% of people in here just have that old man screams at sky mentality. Why the frick would these bands or a few of them stop playing when they’re selling out stadiums and getting Grammy noms

U2 released one of their best albums in 2000.
Personally, I hated that album. It sounded like dollar store Beatles. It contained very little of what made U2 who they were. After that, they just fell down into a well of vanilla pop. Again, just an opinion. I like a different side of their sound, I guess.
