I still love Metallica despite all the crap they've done the last 10 years. I wish they'd tour the US more often.

On my birthday 14 years ago they released my favorite Metallica album "S&M" Call me a pussy if you want, it's still my favorite.

Still have my vinyl from 30 years ago bought at New Generation. One of the best guitar-centric metal albums of all time.

Their S&M album was just mind blowing. RTL was I think their best overall efforts.

James and Lars were always the heart and soul of that band. Bass is by far the least important part of Metallica no matter who's playing.

Metallica was flawless when Burton was with them. Those first three albums are incredible. That was the REAL Metallica.

Both Jason and Cliff contributed greatly in their own way. Cliff was outrageously talented. In fact, I would go so far as to say he surpasses flea if he lives on. But Newsted's vocals and crazy stage presence really saved metallica's arse. I think he was the perfect replacement as far as adding a new element to what cliff had already set in place.
