I've liked him ever since I heard HIllbilly Rock and have only come to appreciate him more over time due his passion for the history of country music. His long running TV show has always been a favorite too since it showcases the classic artists and is formatted exactly like the old Porter Waggoner Show.
My YouTube queue popped up THIS one, Marty and The Superlatives doing a live cover of Marty Robbins' El Paso.

The Superlatives played a Memphis date this past November. Just a great show.
It takes massive cojones to attempt El Paso but they nailed it that night proving again why they’re arguably one of best bands out there.
I consider them a can’t miss show if they’re in the area.

I saw them in Eureka Springs, Arkansas back in November 2019.
I was impressed with the level of skill that Marty had with the mandolin.

Didn't he get his start as a mandolin player for Lester Flatt? I seem to remember him tell that story once.

Saw him here in KC a couple months ago. Great show but he didn’t play but just a little over an hour. No encore.
