fricking love me some lyle lovett. LL and his large band is one of my favorite records. Haven't seen him live in many years so I'm not sure how he is lately but I would definitely go if I had free tickets.

I'm not a big country music guy, but heard a song by him years ago "That's right your not from Texas" and went out and bought the CD (Road to Ensenada). Love the CD and the story telling of the songs. Had the opportunity to see him with his big band on tour. Great show and funny stories. I'm not familiar with any of his other albums, but would easily recommend Road to Ensenada and would love to see him again.

Go see him. There's 10,000 lbs of awesomeness in the 142 lb man.

Definitely go. His voice is as smooth as his face is rough. Great songwriter.
Here's some pics of when I saw him at the N.O. Jazz Fest in 2014.

Go. Wife and I see him every year when he comes to Fort Worth. He's with the Large Band right now, and the lineup is awesome. Sound quality is great and he interacts with the audience a ton. He tells different stories every time I've seen him.

I saw him with the Large Band at Telluride one year and it was fantastic. Of course in that setting he also had Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas playing with him so it couldn't be anything but magical.
I saw him one other time with John Hiatt. It was just the two of them on stage and they swapped songs back and forth. I don't think they ever played a song together (which I was a little disappointed by) but it was still great show.
You should definitely go.

Well my wife and I went and really enjoyed it!
Just Lyle and Keen with their guitars. Lights were down low and they took turns playing tunes.
Great banter between them. I enjoyed it not being one song after another. Had a really nice pace.
He had a Lafayette connection with the old Evangeline's Downs Racetrack. He spend time there as a child when his family would race their horses. Very humble man that connected with his audience.
