Going to be in NO for a few days in March, post Mardi Gras. What are a few good places to catch live music, does not have to be in the quarter either. Just want to have a good time and relax

Le Bon Temps, Maple Leaf, Tipitinas, Frenchmen.

Joy Theater if they have a show you like.

I would also add Balcony Music Club, Siberia, One Eyed Jacks, and Hi Ho Lounge to that list

Maple Leaf or dba might be your best bet for quality local shows on any given night.

Offbeat.com has listings of the shows around town on any given night. My opinion, best to avoid The Quarter for the most part when it comes to music. I'd focus on Frenchman St. because there are several venues close to one another and they all usually have good bands.

Second Maple Lead and Frenchman. Ace Hotel and Carousel Bar sometimes but hit or miss.
