I was in the French Quarter a little bit lately and that inspired this week's face off. Anyone who has been to the FQ knows you can't walk 19 steps without hearing these two bands. Some think they are cheesy but they both have some catchy songs. Anyways, Journey vs. Def Leppard. Who ya got?

Journey - Separate Ways

Def Leppard - Lets Get Rocked

remember, it's not just these songs to judge. I just include them for your listening pleasure

week 1: Barry Manilow defeated Michael Bolton
week 2: Simon and Garfunkel defeated Hall and Oates
week 3: Elton John defeated Billy Joel
week 4: Oasis defeated Blur
week 5: Notorious BIG defeated Tupac
week 6: Rolling Stones defeated Beach Boys
week 7: Alice in Chains defeated Soundgarden

Journey. Although playing drums with only one arm is impressive.

but, you should've picked a better song for them than that one.

Def Leppard based on "On Through The Night" and "High and Dry."

Well, DL was quite different with it's first couple of releases. I lost interest after Pyromania.

My deep hatred of 80s hair metal knows no bounds, and Def Leppard is perhaps the worst example of an excretal period in pop music.

Journey. And I don't really like them either.

Journey, but that's like asking me if I would rather crabs or the clap.

Journey by default.

Hair Metal was a bad genre of music. Def Leppard High N Dry or Pyromania wasn't so bad. But Hysteria album made me want to stomp kittens it was played so much back then. Hair metal was bad enough and pop at times was horrible in the 80's. Combine the two and you get Hysteria and yet they played the frick out of that crap.

When it comes to DL, you have ask whether it's a one arm or two arm song. They have some good early tracks but Journey is stronger IMO.

Journey
