Last night, I was thinking about all the important music that happened close to me.

It started out, I was thinking about Hank William's Kawliga.
The place where I do my picking and jamming, is only a few miles from where the song began, when Hank Williams was in a local jail.
Down at Blue Creek, They have a wooden Indian that they call Kawliga, but it's not the real one that inspired the song.
That one, got stolen years ago. I hear maybe rumors about it's real location, but I don't know for sure, because I've never actually seen it. I've seen the replacement.
Thinking about that, sent me down a rabbit hole, about songs that were inspired in this area.
I think this one was best of all. LINK
The story of how Steve Young wrote it, is great.
I think we're going to ride down there this weekend.
Another good song that was born nearby : God Is Great, Beer Is Good, People Are Crazy- Troy Jones R.I.P.

Steve Young - "Seven Bridges Road" (1969)
At least the cover made Steve a few bucks

I bet it was more than a few.
A lot of people recorded that song.
Damn, wasn't it good though?

Kafka is a multifaceted kind of dude.
Oh, and I'm not laughing at Kafka here, just more about my redneck arse using the word " Multifaceted" and spelling it correctly.

Imagine if RUSH had done it...

I would go look at that stairwell in the NYC apartment building where Dylan wrote a bunch of songs.

How good was that though? Really good. If it just had a constant snare drum, or a good finger picker...

I would love to do that, but I would probably get raped like a goat and my guitar stolen by some "migrants".
Weird facts: My Dad and Robert Zimmerman were born on the same day. My Dad grew up being called Bobby too.

The Eagles did it better. Made it their own.

I bet they never went down that road to pick with that guitar player that lived there.

I had no idea there was an original version! I love the angst in his voice as he sings.

When I was younger, and didn't know any better and also lived a couple hundred miles north, the rumor was that Seven Bridges Road was where Hank Williams was buried and the song was about going to visit his grave.
The only reason that the song even still exists, is because Jimmy Burton ( pink Paisely Elvis and Ricky Nelson guitar player) was a session player that day and liked the song. If not for him, it would have died in 1969.
