I loved this band in the 90's.. Where would you rank Kevn as songwriter and the band ?
I recently watched the scarred but smarter documentary and it was great ... They are survivors for sure

Excellent. If you haven't heard it, check out Hard Working Americans' version of Straight to Hell. It's fantastic.

I've seen Kevin and Drivin' N Cryin' more than any other group. A good ten times now.

And they've played Scarred But Smarter each and every time.

My dickish reply aside, to answer your question, I love Kinney as a songwriter. And yeah I love that they're still on the road. I've seen em more than anybody else and that's even though there have been a number of times they've come through and I had to miss it.

I still pop them in regularly and listen and even their new stuff. I've seen them countless times. Late 80's early 90's, the best college band. Something about those southern rock bands from the ATL.

One of the pre-eminent southern rock bands of the late 80s, early 90s. Big fan.

I've always wondered why Houdini he wanted to talk to.

Haven't listened to them since the 80s. My recollection is they became a generic sounding band.....predictable riffs......listening to Fly Me Courageous just now confirms this. Scarred But Smarter is the only album I cared for. Kevin Kinney is/ was a really nice guy. I drove him to his gig in BR in the 80s at some skating rink. I got lost and couldnt find it but he was cool about it. I did finally get him there.
