Kacey Musgraves show and opening act

I took my daughter to see Kacey Musgraves last night at e Fillmore. I have to say, I enjoyed it more that I was anticipating. She may a bit to clever-cute but she knows how to write a hook or a catchy phrase.

However, what I really came to share with you guys was the opening act- Yola YouTube link

She is from Bristol, England and has a sound that is fresh and classic all at the same time. She mixes country, soul, Americana, a little Phil Spector sound all together and absolutely blew away the audience last night. Her voice is powerful and she has full control over it. She understands that a powerful voice doesn’t need to be full throttle all the time and she does a fantastic job of letting her voice be a dynamic instrument. She made lots of new fans last night. And you could tell she was having the time of her life on that stage. I’m a new fan of Yola’s.
