Make sure you see the Campbell Brothers if you can. They influenced Robert Randolph. Saw them years ago at fest, when they played a night show at some little bar in Algiers.

Artists' twitter accounts

Daily lineups should be soon

Daily schedules are usually around a month before

I have my doubts this fest will happen, and I’m not really impressed by the lineup.

Ceelo Green doing a tribute to James Brown is sneaky interesting

It will happen. They will still probably act like Nazis and make you show your papers but the days of canceling stuff for covid is long over

Lafayette has a very different city/parish government than does New Orleans.

Shaky Knees is requiring proof of vaccination or negative tests.. same weekend as Jazz Fest.. same as everything else in Orleans Parish

The difference is that shows were still getting canceled in New Orleans late last fall like crazy. There were no masks, no vax papers, and a mostly full cajun dome for Kiss at the same time. I have had issues with shows in New Orleans being canceled due to city mandate shenanigans just in the last 2 months. Lafayette has no such interference from city hall. I hope jazz fest happens, but I’m not buying a ticket until the day of the show, just like every other ticketed event in Orleans Parish. The risk of cancellation with the track record we have is simply too great.

I guess it just depends on what you’re into. I don’t see a ton of random midcard acts that excite me like I usually do. I see the New Orleans staples plus a few solid headliners that are frequently in the rotation.

Then save yourself the stress, and having to make last minute decisions and don't go.. I rarely go to Jazz Fest, if I do, it'll just be one day where bands I really want to see are playing because I honestly can't take the crowds at JF.. I don't know what else to tell you sir..

I go to a lot of jazz fests, including the last one that they had. There’s always a couple good headliners, but to make the price of admission for a day worth it, I need more than just a good headliner. I pick the day that has the best mix of my favorite locals, some intriguing mid-level acts, and a headliner I want to see. I can see the local guys (Kermit, Anders, Samantha Fish, Rebirth, Soul Rebels, etc) pretty often for much cheaper. I may change my mind once the pods come out.

Are you familiar with Latoya Cantrell? If she feels like she is being bullied then she will damn well cancel whatever she wants to cancel. Understood?

I’ll be so glad to be back. One day at the Gentilly stage only. I’ll sit and watch every act. No Acura for me. Best way to spend my JF
