In Huntsville this weekend. My only reason for posting this is hopefully it will piss a lot of people off. His ticket prices on the secondary market have skyrocketed in the last two years.
Stay the frick home.

His Tweet about people mad about his politics not being able to throw the CD/LP away because they strem it from the internet was pretty funny.

Dang. And I liked his "Sleepin' in my Dress Blues" song.
Oh well, I wouldn't be going to his concert anyways.

I would have never thought a political concert for Doug Jones would be the first time a Jason Isbell concert was worth going to.

Isbell's hatred for those who vote on the Right is well known.
Good thing most of his fan base is more open minded than he is. He mocks them anyway.

Not only did he litter his last album with whiny leftism, it just wasn't any good. He should leave his wife for liquor.

I agree. It’s his worst solo work...still better than 97% of music out there, but not good by comparison to his other work.
I’m certainly not fan of his politics (but he wouldn’t like mine either).
Wish he’d leave that out and just tell stories through music that are apololitical.

Jason's album The Nashville Sound isn't too political, it has one song that is, and that's it.
I don't see the big deal in him doing a political concert if he wants to, it's his right. I've never seen Jason live (I'd like to), but I'd hope that he keeps his politics at a minimum at paid shows.
I'm also a huge Buffett fan, and he always does political fundraisers for DNC candidates. However, he never talks politics at his regular shows. So I respect that.
Just $.02 from a Republican that enjoys good music.

I hear you ,I've seen him quiet a few times and I've never heard him say one political thing on stage. But that doesn't fit the ticket price narrative. He thinks Trump is a blithering idiot. A carnival barker if you will.

A musician who supports Progressive candidates ? That's fresh and new. Some would even say edgy and brave. I hope he wears a pussy hat so we get the full effect.

There is a certain breed of Progressive bumper-sticker-spouting-fanboy who enjoys being lectured to by celebrities who themselves enjoy the warm fuzzy and societal affirmation of simplistic virtue-signaling.
And then there are men.

I love all of the triggered hillbillies that act like Nashville Sound was a Lena Dunham book.
I saw him in Shreveport, and after they played "White man's world," he said "thank y'all for listening to that. I really appreciate it."

Entertainers are, for all intents and purposes, our court jesters. Who ever takes what they say to heart regarding politics, does so at their own peril.
That said, you are hard pressed to find any entertainer that isn't on the left side of the spectrum. So if you like music, art, television, film, books, etc., and partake of them, then you are probably "supporting a liberal."
So be it. I'll give Isbell the money for a ticket to see him live and I'll download his songs. And I won't get offended if he blabs about whatever political message he may blab about, so long as it doesn't take away from his songwriting and playing. I just know that I am probably much more informed than he is, and that he is my jester, playing for money I'm tossing at him, not listening to his ill-informed political blabbing.

I completely agree.
You are well-informed.
I believe I'd stay home.
