Buffett is southern to keys beach vibe and Johnson is west coast, Hawaii vibe

Yes, his stuff is pretty similar now that 20 years or so have gone by, but his early stuff, when it was new, was awesome. Check out the album "On and On"--I heard it at a Pensacola beach bar before I knew who he was--good vibe. Cool baselines and acoustic guitar riffs.

Wasn't it the bass player from the Goo Goo Dolls that was the fat one of the group?

I’ve never wanted to listen to all of his music because everything I have heard sounds so similar. He definitely has a sound and he seems to stick to it. I enjoy what I do listen to, though.

I came here to say that exact thing. He opened for Ben Harper in Vegas and I really liked both of them at the time. Ben Harper made him look like a JV high school talent show act. I enjoy his (Jacks) music for what it is but Ben Harper is a maestro on that sit down slide guitar

I guess I can see the appeal, but he bores me to death. On the other hand, I love acts like Nick Drake, Mark Kozelek, Lord Huron, Bon Iver, etc that other folks may find boring.
